A MAN with an address in Harlow has been given an eight year sentence after pleading guilty to a large number of offences including downloading images of child abuse, breaching sexual offences prevention orders and a number of other charges relating to sexual activity with a child.

Aubrey James Anthony Bowen-Clarke, aged 39, of Old Harlow has been charged with the following.

Bowen-Clarke appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday June 9th.

He was given an eight year sentence. Three years and four months to be served in prison.

Five years to be served out on licence.

He has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

He is the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

He had pleaded guilty to the following.

On July 23rd, 2021 in Harlow made indecent photographs, namely category A images, of a child.

On July 23rd, 2021 in Harlow made indecent photographs, namely category B images, of a child.

On July 23rd, 2021 in Harlow made indecent photographs, namely category C images, of a child.

On March 22nd, 2022 without reasonable excuse, did something, namely failed to disclose seven mobile phones, that you were prohibited from doing by a sexual offences prevention order made by Swansea Crown Court on March 12th, 2014.

Between February 19th and March 21st 2022 at Harlow intentionally arranged or facilitated the sexual exploitation of a child aged 16 whom you did not reasonably believe was aged 18 or over, in any part of the world by meeting them and paying them to engage in sexual activity.

On March 2nd, 2022 at Harlow attempted to arrange or facilitate an act which you intended another person to do in any part of the world, namely Uganda, which would involve the commission of an offence under section 9 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, namely sexual activity with a child.

Between March 13th, 2022 and March 22nd, 2022 at Harlow being a person aged 18 or over, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being sexual, namely requesting sexual photographs and discussing sexual acts.

On March 18th, 2022 at Harlow being a person aged 18 or over, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally caused a child aged 15, whom you did not reasonably believe was aged 16 or over, to look at an image of a person engaging in a sexual activity.

On or before March 23rd, 2019 at Harlow being a person aged 18 or over, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with Name Unknown, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being sexual, namely asking the child if he could perform sexual acts on him.

On or before March 23rd, 2029 at Harlow being a person aged 18 or over, intentionally caused or incited a boy aged 14, not reasonably believing he was aged 16 or over, to engage in sexual activity of a non penetrative nature, namely to send photographs of himself masturbating.

On March 22nd, 2022 at Harlow, being a relevant offender within the terms of section 80 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the notification requirements as provided by Part 2 of that Act in that you failed to notify your monitoring officer of alias names being used by yourself.
