HARLOW MP Robert Halfon is backing former Health Secretary Sajid Javid to be the next Prime Minister.
The MP for Harlow went on Twitter to show his support.

Mr Halfon said: “I have known Sajid Javid for thirty four years as a good friend since the University of Exeter.
He has conviction, experience, integrity and most importantly for me, decency. He would make a good leader of the Conservatives and Prime Minister.
I’m glad cutting the cost of living is the heart of his campaign”
Mr Javid has visited Harlow on a number of occasions over the years. Most recently, he went to Passmores House to discuss provision for drug rehabilitation.

Mr Halfon I hope you read this, thank you for your honest, a vote for a friend NOT a vote for the best candidate and the British public. You have just Iost two votes. Sajid did the worst thing along side Sunak and sat with BJ knowing they had driven the knife into the back of the PM. I'm not a particular a fan of Boris but the actions of the Tory MPs is a real disgrace. We need a people person, a person who is as squeaky clean and honest as possible, I'm not sure there is any MP in the house fit for purpose.
Are you backing him because he’s your mate, could give you a top job. Sorry Robert, he’s got no chance while Rishi is around.
All theses resignations, only to jump into his shoes, absolutely disgusting betrayal. I'm not a Boris fan, but I have no respect for them that said what they said about him, only to get his job. Two faced springs to mind. How can you trust that.
Everyone knows Sajid is really the “hood” in disguise( baddie from thunderbirds series in the 60’s for everyone under 50)
Sajid Javid worked at Deutsche Bank and knows a thing or two about finance. He also became Health Secretary with some preconceptions that were eventually whittled away by civil servants, which shows an ability to listen to advice. I thought his performance at the Department for Health was good. Either Sajid or Rishi Sunak for Prime Minister.
I would have liked "Ability" to be included as a reason for supporting him.
"Ability" is not a requirement for being the leader of the conservatives. Johnson was voted in and supported by RH despite the known incompetence and laziness. An example of Sajid Javid's "Ability" - in April he voted for the national insurance rise and said it was right and fair. Now, today, by sheer coincidence, it is neither right nor fair. Another example of his "Ability" - as health secretary, he signed economic policies he did not agree with. Why did he sign the if he didn't agree with them? Anyone with "Ability" would have refused to sign them or resign. He did neither. "Either Sajid or Rishi Sunak for Prime Minister." An out of touch tax dodger or the one claiming to be being like Boris Johnson, but with slightly more integrity? Good choice. Related news - Robert Halfon has been elected to the 1922 Committee. Does this now mean he has to be impartial, and now should retract his support for any of the candidates?
Looks like Rishi Sunak is going to clear the first hurdle with ease having obtained 18 more nominations than the required 20. Wonderful news that will inspire those of us who wish to see a more inclusive Britain, especially when news surfaces today of the SAS murdering detainees in Afghanistan.
What part of We come in peace - shoot to kill didn't David understand.
Robert, you have been silent, at least on YH, about who you are now supporting. Applying political expediency pehaps by waiting to announce who you are now supporting until they have won
