A PETITION has started over safety concerns over the roads near to Newhall Primary Academy.
The petition centres on the Narrow Pavement on Round House Way and 20mph Speed Limit and Visibility Concerns.
The full details are below.
Road safety issues on a new estate: bad road by design; can't planners figure out how to design roads near at school? Obviously not and not a surprise they've got it wrong since they got the Gibberd plans wrong and built the M11 on the east side of town whereas the town was designed around it being on the west.!
It's not just Newhall. Parents and their bad parking at most schools should be of concern. I live near a school and, in the morning a at school closures, regularly see cars parked poorly including on the corners and yellow zig zags. It's just a matter of time before a child gets injured, or worse, and guess who would get the blame, the driver who was trying to negotiate through the barrage of parked cars and expected to have eyes in the back of their heads !!
LOL!!!! what a joke this town has become, although is Newhall even Harlow. There are plenty of pavements that need sorting that have been dangerous for a number of years
Nostradamus. When the town was built, it wasn't known which side the M11 would go. Apparently it was thought more likely to be on the west, so the Pinnacles industrial area was put there. Sadly, as we know, this guess proved incorrect. I suppose the best bet would have been on the centre of the top of bottom side of the town. I agree the lack of proper pavements on these new estates is a scandal. How can children get about safely without decent pavements?
Oops, typo. I meant to say, " I suppose the best bet would have been on the centre of the top or bottom side of the town."
People moved into the area. So surly you do your homework on the area you are going to live in. It is their own fault and now want to blame someone else.

I have seen cars and vans driving at excessive speeds outside Newhall school, That’s without mentioning the amount of drivers on their phones, This happens daily and is only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured
St Marks is a nightmare at school drop off and pick up. So many entitled parents who think the laws of the road don't apply to them
