TESCO is today welcoming customers to its new Express store in Harlow.
The new store, located in the town’s Harvey Centre, opened its doors for the first time at 10am on Friday the 31st of January.

New store manager Sonya Patti said: “We are absolutely delighted to open our new Tesco Express and begin serving the local community. Our shelves will feature a wide range of fresh produce, value-packed meal deals and delicious bakery treats.”
“We are also thrilled to be part of the Tesco Stronger Starts grant scheme, which provides essential funding to schools to support the health and wellbeing of children.”
Local schools and community groups are invited to apply for community funding through Tesco’s Stronger Starts, Tesco’s blue token voting scheme which sees three local projects voted on by customers in store every three months, with first place awarded up to £1,500, second place up to £1,000 and third place up to £500.
The new Express store will also participate in the Community Food Connection scheme, which redistributes surplus food to charities and community groups from every Tesco store at the end of each day.
Since its launch in 2016, the Tesco Community Food Connection Scheme has donated more than 145 million meals to charities across the UK.
This scheme is run in partnership with food redistribution charity FareShare. Each month more than one million meals’ worth of food are donated across the country.
So not really a new store, just a relocation of the existing one as there is already a Tesco Express in the Harvey Centre.
So how many Tesco's are in Harlow now😄
surprised there isn't anything down by harlow town station considering there are several new housing blocks there now.
I wouldn't be suprised now they have opened this one at the Halifax end of the Harvey centre, if they don't close the larger Tesco express next to the Harvey centre car park. Even more so as they have larger stores in Church Langley and Edinburgh Way.
It's a poor replacement to the one which was already in the Harvey Centre which appears to have been shut down. Fraction of the size, fraction of the range, more expensive and very cramped. Rather than welcoming the addition of a Tesco Express to the Harvey Centre we should be mourning the loss of the larger, better stocked Tesco from the Harvey Centre! Unless, of course, they're planning on reopening the other Tesco at some point?
Far too small so it looks like I will have to do my weekly shop at Sainsbury's from now on
Anyone else remember when Tesco was spread out over two floors?? 😔 end of an era…
Extremely disappointed for the loss of an excellent Whoosh service, I do not live in Harlow and used it to help my disabled brother in between fortnightly Tesco grocery deliveries. Will have to start using Sainsbury’s CHOP CHOP Service now.
Sainsbury's are far more excited than the new manager of the mini Tesco, what a ridiculous move,
What a terrible downgrade. Glad I switched to Asda a few years ago anyway.
