John Steer confirmed as Harlow Conservative candidate for Mark Hall by-election

THE Harlow Conservatives have confirmed John Steer as their candidate for the Mark Hall by-election on 1 May. The by-election follows the resignation of the one of the Labour councillors for the area.

Commenting on the choice facing Mark Hall residents, John said: “Mark Hall residents will remember what happened to our town under the old Harlow Labour Council. Our beautiful town had been left in a state of decay. Our town centre had become derelict, our neighbourhoods had fallen into disrepair, and London Councils were dumping their residents in our town on an epic scale.
“All the while, Labour increased your Harlow Council Tax by 14% and were named the ‘worst council in Essex’ during the pandemic.
“Since taking control of Harlow Council, the Harlow Conservatives have begun the complete rebuilding of the town centre, ensured Harlow homes are for Harlow people and frozen Harlow council tax. But that progress is at risk.
“On Thursday 1 May, residents will decide the future you want for Mark Hall and for our town and the choice could not be clearer. It is either the Harlow Conservatives running Harlow Council or Harlow Labour. A vote for any other party is simply a vote for Labour.
“I hope I can count on your support, to be a strong voice for Mark Hall, and to rebuild our town.”
While I disagree with his politics, he is a decent bloke. Good luck John Steer.
I would point out the tories were in charge of harlow during pandemic.
Perhaps, if you are elected John, you could get Demolition Dan to finish one project before starting another!
