Athletics / Thu 1st May 2025 at 08:53am

ON SUNDAY, Harlow resident Kate Stanley ran the London Marathon in memory of Ruby Trussler

Precious Ruby passed away in October at just six years of age.

As you know, it was a hot day for the runners but that wasn’t going to stop Kate, who conquered the course in 7:04:18

Kate’s marathon effort are part of the fundraising campaign for Ruby’s family.

Kate said: “I was running to raise money to get her family to Disney Land in November for what would have been Ruby’s 8th birthday.

“I’m looking to raise £6k in total.

“Ruby’s mum Emma is a good friend of mine and I was devastated when Ruby passed and wanted to help in someway.

“I have had an amazing response from social media posts from the day… Ruby’s little brother Harry even crossed the finish line with me in Ruby’s memory”.
