HARLOW’s Junior parkrun saw the highest number of participants in six years.

Junior parkrun is a 2k run/walk around the Harlow Town Park show ground area.

Run Director Catherine Penketh said: “We were absolutely thrilled to welcome 81 children to Harlow junior parkrun this morning.

This was our largest number of athletes since 2019. We had an amazing 19 first timers attend today and hope they all come back and have another go next week!

Although 81 children attending is a great number we know there are many more children in Harlow and the surrounding areas and would love to see more of them getting some fresh air and exercise and make new friendships by joining us each week.

“We have recently run some midweek sessions for local cubs and beavers to experience a ‘pretend parkrun’ and it was good to see some of them come again on a Sunday for a real parkrun!
