Cards to Pope Leo XIV from all Harlow’s Catholic primary schools are hand delivered to The Vatican

Education / Tue 20th May 2025 at 09:37am

MESSAGES of congratulations to Pope Leo XIV by all three Catholic primary schools in Harlow were hand delivered to the Vatican at the weekend.

The editor of Your Harlow, Michael Casey visited Rome and the Vatican at the weekend.

Pope Leo XIV held his inaugural mass in front of an estimated audience of 250,000 including dignitaries from around the world.

On Thursday, Michael picked up special cards made by pupils at Holy Cross Catholic Primary Academy, St Luke’s Catholic Primary Academy and St Alban’s Catholic Primary Academy.

On arrival in St Peter’s Square, we had photographs of all the cards taken.

We would like to thank a Catholic group from Sicily and a Catholic group from Brazil for helping us with the photos. The Sicilian church members took the photo below and when they found out our editor was a journalist, he spent the next ten minutes taking photos of many many groups. One big happy Catholic family!

We then posted all the cards in a special postbox in St Peter’s Square.

Well done to all those pupils who made the cards and can now see that their special messages went all the way to the home of the Pope in The Vatican.

Thank you to Your Harlow’s friend Colm Flynn at EWTN news for his assistance in this news item.
