STEWARDS Academy’s careers team welcomed 21 volunteers, from a wealth of workplaces, to conduct mock interviews with our Year 10 students on Thursday 21st May.
Alongside two of our governors, we were lucky enough to have visitors from Pearsons, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Hertford Regional College, The Hill Group, PACT for Autism, Rainbow Services, Essex Police, Realise Education, DWP, Essex Youth Service, Lloyds Bank, Milwards, and YourHarlow.

In preparation for the session, students had a series of assemblies and participated in a CV writing workshop.
One student said: “My interviewer was lovely. I was a bit worried at first, but she helped me feel more comfortable in talking about myself.”
Another student said: “I really enjoyed my interview. I got some helpful feedback that I will definitely take on board.”
Di da Vighi, Careers Lead, said: “It was a wonderful day. There was so much positivity in the hall and students who arrived quite nervous, left with big smiles on their faces.
Taking part in activities like this is an essential part of the journey from secondary to Post 16 education and employment. We are so appreciative of all the visitors that were able to support with this process.
“They have provided some really insightful feedback for the students and given us food for thought for our future planning.”
