Newhall man found guilty of assault and possession of samurai sword

A NEWHALL man has been found guilty of assaulting a woman and being in possession of a number of offensive weapons including a samurai sword.
Aquib Kazmi, aged 48, of Langdale Street, Newhall was found guilty of the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

On May 9th, 2026 at Harlow, assaulted a woman by beating her.
On May 9th, 2026 at Harlow, possessed in private, a weapon to which section 141 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 applied, namely a samurai sword with blade length of approximately 65cm.
On May 9th, 2026 at Harlow, used or threatened unlawful violence towards other persons and your conduct was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety.
He has been remanded on conditional bail. Next hearing is scheduled for August 3rd, 2026.
Another violent man let out on bail. When will they learn !
