Spurriers CafeHARLOW Council is looking for an independent catering company to provide and run a high-quality café service within Harlow Town Park.

Spurriers House is currently being refurbished as part of the £2.8m regeneration project within Harlow Town Park, which is part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. As part of its renovation, Spurriers House will now include a new café area on its ground floor.

The new café, set within the re-landscaped grounds of the park in close proximity to Pets’ Corner, the Bandstand and the Town Park Showground, will feature an accompanying terrace.

The deadline for return of tenders is Friday 10 July 2015.

The Council is also seeking proposals from organisations within the local community interested in bringing Bush Fair D Pavilion and associated sports pitch back into use. The submission deadline for this is Friday 3 July 2015.

Commenting on the opportunities, Councillor Tony Durcan, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Enterprise, said: “These are two great opportunities for organisations or companies to get involved in the providing new facilities for the community and be part of Harlow’s regeneration.

“The regeneration of the Town Park is really gathering pace and with the refurbishment of Spurriers House and the addition of a café, we are adding yet another great service to the park. Spurriers House is right next to Pets’ Corner, the Bandstand and Showground and is within walking distance of Harlow Town Railway Station, residential properties, offices and the town centre, so there is great potential there to make it a success.”
