DO you want to know who plans and buys local health services on your behalf and how you can have your say? If you do then a new information guide is for you.
It tells you all about the West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation that is responsible for helping you to maintain and improve your health, as well as ensuring you can access the right service at the right time when you or
your family are unwell.
The guide is called ‘Your questions answered’ and contains details of the how the CCG works; the values that guide decisions; the budget available for local healthcare this year and a breakdown of where the money goes.
There is also a section outlining who’s who in the CCG, details of the health priorities in this area and
information about the west Essex population that the CCG serves.
Dr Rob Gerlis, chair of the West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group said:
“As a clinically-led organisation our focus is in on providing the health services that our local population need, to the standards they should expect. This means we will only plan and buy services that result in better quality care.
“We need and want the views, knowledge and ideas of our local population. This information guide has useful information for anyone who wants to be involved.
“Your questions answered’ is available from www.westessexccg.nhs.uk. It will also be available in local GP surgeries.
“The CCG will shortly be launching a campaign ‘My health, My future, My say’ which aims to get everyone thinking about the health services the people of west Essex will need over the next ten years. I would urge everyone to take part.”
