Charity / Fri 18th Oct 2013 am31 10:06am

A CHARITY bike ride from Harlow to the Republic of Ireland is set to be completed today.

As we reported on Monday, six riders set off from the Princess Alexandra Hospital, on a 350 mile ride to Carrick on Suir, Co Tipperary with a goal of completing the distance in 5 days.

The Bike for Billy riders:
James Ashworth, Simon Parrish, Mark Reed, James Conway, Maurice Conway & Leo Commins.

So far they have raised £2985 and hope to go on to raise £4k for the Neonatal Unit in Harlow and the Fetal Medicine Unit, University College Hospital London.

Earlier this year Alissa and James’ little boy Billy was born asleep on the 14th February – unfortunately Billy suffered from a number of fatal fetal abnormalities which were diagnosed at the 12 week scan.

It has been a wet and soggy journey reports Alissa Ashworth but they are nearly there.
