A RESIDENT has written to us, praising Harlow ambassador,Nishall Girala’s BigUpHarlow campaign.
I was very impressed to read the article today (20/11) in The Harlow Star on Nishall Garala and #BigUpHarlow.
“I have lived in Harlow since 1968. I always wave the flag for Harlow, there is so much good about living here. It saddens me when Harlow gets bad press and it annoys me when it’s a conversation stopper – if asked “where d’you live? – some people make an ill informed judgement. From being a ‘young mum’ in 1969/early 1970s to a senior now, I know there is so much opportunity in Harlow.
For my age group there is plenty to help people keep physically and mentally active. There are all sorts of educational classes, the University of the Third Age (U3A) extremely successful in Harlow, lots of exercise groups, opportunity to give time to a variety of charities and self help groups.
“On top of that Harlow has a mainline station – use a Senior Railcard and get into London in 35 mins. Or Epping Central line, only 15 mins away – using Oystercard even cheaper.
“Well done, Nishall. Keep up the good work.”
