Clare the Bear is limbering up for St Clare 10K

St Clare the BearST Clare mascot Clare the Bear has been limbering up ready for the Hospice’s annual 10k Race on Sunday, April 12.

Registration is now open for the popular sporting event, which this year is being sponsored by Stansted-based GC Physiotherapy, owned and managed by George Cooper.

To launch the event, Clare the Bear was put through her paces on the running track at Harlow’s Mark Hall Sport Centre, where she was joined for a few laps by Hospice fundraisers Rebekah Birch and Rachael Bray.

St Clare fundraising manager Dominique Brunning said: “The St Clare 10k attracts hundreds of runners each year, making it one of our most popular events. The race starts and finishes here at the Hospice and follows a challenging route on the roads of Hastingwood.

“The event is suitable for of all abilities, including wheelchair athletes, so whether you are a seasoned club runner looking for a personal best or someone who is relatively new to running but would like a 10k challenge this is the ideal event for you.”

Advance registration is £12 or £15 on the day (£10 or £13 respectively for affiliated runners). The deadline for postal and online sign-ups is midday on Wednesday, April 8. The registration desk on the day will open from 9.30am. The event is open to people aged 15 and above.
