Midweek at the Rhodes
On the fourth Wednesday of every month we welcome our resident Jazz Quartet, Que Pasa, as they explore and improvise in a range of musical languages, from Jazz, through Cuban to modern and home-grown. Featuring internationally renowned played Pete Lemer on keys, Paul Robinson on drums, Steve Cook on Bass, with Adam Amor on Sax and brilliant trumpet player Paul Higgs. Between them they have worked with acts such as Nina Simone, Grace Jones, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Ginger Baker, Mike Oldfield, The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The best of the genre from the best in the business!

On the 10th June we welcome back The Ruocco-Lane Jazz Quartet. This popular quartet makes a return visit with a repertoire consisting of tuneful modern jazz standards with a few funky tunes for good measure.

Bill Cornell and his Jazz Katz are back on the 8th July. Local legend Bill Cornell and his ever-exuberant Jazz Katz will play the best in traditional jazz from the 1920’s to the 1940’s. However, anyone who has seen the Jazz Katz knows, it is unlikely the repertoire will remain quite so restricted.

A toe-tapping-up-tempo night of fun and laughter is guaranteed!

Chris Lord and Her Blues Express will be putting on a performance on the 12th August. A powerful and raunchy Rhythm and Blues 6 piece, Chris Lord and Her Blues Express produce classic Rhythm and Blues with the kind of exuberance and joy which belies their collective years of musical experience.

All of the Live Midweek Music events start at 7.30pm and are FREE!
