Councillor fixes pothole problem (but what a palaver!)

Politics / Sun 31st May 2015 at 03:24pm

IT LOOKS like you can solve a problem like a plethora of potholes on Tumbler Road but boy does it take some effort.

And sometimes, it takes a tenacious councillor such as Bush Fair’s Ian Beckett to get to the bottom of the problem.

It was a simple situation really. The speed bump outside Manor Hatch shops on Tumbler Road was so badly pitted that it was a driving hazard. Some cars took to driving on the other side of the road as they feared their cars would be damaged.

Councillor Beckett contacted Essex Council who told him that the pothole did not fit the criteria.
As the speed bump now resembled the surface of the moon, cll Beckett did not give up and eventually managed to get the speed bump resurfaced much to local residents delight.
