FIND out why Essex is one of the UK’s top business destinations and how Essex County Council can help your business to grow at a free event taking place later this month.

The Essex Means Business showcase event is the chance to hear at first hand from businesses, large and small, local, national and international, that have succeeded in Essex.

It will be the opportunity to find out about the support that Essex County Council can give businesses, whether it be nurturing a start-up company, helping an international conglomerate to relocate, or developing international links.

Cllr Kevin Bentley, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Infrastructure, said: “We know that Essex is the place of choice to do business for many companies. At this event people will be able to find out what’s on offer in Essex for businesses of all sizes.

“Essex is a county of opportunity. This is why more and more people are choosing to locate their companies in Essex. We, at the county council, are working hard to improve the infrastructure and set up valuable support for businesses, from mentoring for start-ups, to ensuring that young people have the skills required to work in Essex.

“I hope this event will leave people inspired to do more in Essex, as well as giving practical information about support available from writing funding bid applications to providing office space, and from advising on exporting to China to navigating a successful path to EU and national Government funding.”

The event includes a schedule of inspirational speakers and the opportunity to network and to speak to business experts from Essex County Council. There will also be a marketplace exhibition.

The event, which is free, takes place on Wednesday 24 June at Ford Dunton Engineering Centre in Basildon, from 9am to 1.15pm.
