Harlow Cultural Tour

Cultural tour of Harlow on Thursday April 9th 2015

15 people went on this outing, organised by the Harlow Art Trust, where they explored many sculptures of national significance that are exhibited throughout Harlow: in the Gibberd Gallery, the Water Gardens, The Playhouse, the town centre, the Museum, the Gibberd Gardens and the Gibberd rooms as well as outlying estates.

Travel to the different venues was by minibus and on foot. They were accompanied by friendly and enthusiastic guides who were able to illuminate the background to many of the sculptures. Morning refreshments were laid on at the Gibberd Gallery. An excellent lunch was provided at the Gibberd Gardens followed by a talk about Sir Frederick Gibberd, the architect and master planner of Harlow New Town.

A spokesperson said: “The trip was excellent value at £25 per head and we were blessed with brilliant sunshine. The overwhelming consensus was that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable event and that we would never look at Harlow in the same way again!

Still places available for Thursday 11th June, 9th July, 13th August and 20th September.
