Charity / Mon 24th Aug 2015 at 08:52am
GET in the swing for your local Hospice by entering a team for St Clare’s first-ever golf day.
Offering the chance to tee off for 18 holes on the par 72 championship course at Abridge Golf Club, the sporting event on Friday, October 16 is the first time the Hastingwood-based charity has hosted a golf day exclusively for local businesses and corporate supporters.
Set in 240 acres of beautiful parklands, Abridge Golf Club is home to some of the major amateur golfing tournaments, including the South East Regional Open Qualifier.
After registration, players will enjoy breakfast before heading out onto the Henry Cotton-designed course. The 1st and 10th tees are reserved at 11.30am.
Teams will be playing an 18-hole Stableford format and there will be prizes for the 1st and 2nd placed teams as well as best individual golfer, nearest the pin and longest drive, plus the chance to win a car for a hole in one.
The golf will be followed by a two-course dinner, prize giving and charity raffle and auction. The event is being organised in conjunction with Loughton-based Planet Leasing and is being supported by golfing experts Leisure Link.
The competition is open to teams of up to four players and registration costs £340 per team. You can register online at www.stclarehospice.org.uk/event.
