Run the Brighton Marathon for St Clare Hospice

Charity / Wed 31st Jan 2018 at 12:44pm

HASTINGWOOD-based charity, St Clare Hospice, is offering two people the opportunity to participate in the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 15th April 2018 in aid of the Hospice. Starting at Preston Park, the 26.2 mile route winds through the city streets and finishes on the spectacular Brighton seafront. This offers a great opportunity for those keen runners who did not secure a place for the world-renowned London Marathon.

With the sea providing the stunning backdrop, this race in one of the country’s most vibrant cities gets bigger and better every year. Renowned for its buzzing atmosphere and roaring support of the crowd, it offers a running experience perfect for both seasoned athletes and first-time marathon challengers.

Clare Gallagher ran the 2016 Brighton Marathon for St Clare Hospice and said: “I couldn’t recommend Brighton Marathon enough; I had the most fantastic experience! The atmosphere and buzz on the day is amazing, the streets are lined with people cheering your name and the runners around you encouraging each other.”

Clare Gallagher continued: “The marathon has plenty of support, with lots of water stations throughout the route and local people handing out Jelly Babies as you run past! On crossing the finishing line you walk into the finishers’ village, with a steel band playing, and food and drink in abundance. It finishes right by the sea so you can dip your weary feet!”

Participation in the Brighton Marathon in aid of St Clare Hospice requires a £50 deposit and runners are asked to commit to raising at least £500 in sponsorship. For more information and to apply, please visit: www.stclarehospice.org.uk/event/brighton-marathon-2018
