Harlow Alliance Party

Letter to the editor:

From the Leader of The Harlow Alliance Party, Nicholas Taylor

I would like to thank the 426 voters who voted for the Harlow Alliance Party in the local election last Thursday. Having launched the Party only three months ago it is heartening to know that so many people in the town want to see an alternative to the two party set up in Harlow and share our concerns about the loss of playing fields and green spaces in Harlow and the loss of green belt land on it’s borders. We will be taking these concerns to the Inspector who will be looking at Epping Forest District Council’s Local Plan later this year and making them known to Harlow Council when it opens up it’s consultation about it’s own Local Plan.

The Harlow Alliance Party have policies on a wide range of subjects posted on our website which will be updated in the following weeks and months. As these are developed, along with progress on the two plans above.

Whilst writing, I would also like to thank the staff at Harlow District Council who were very helpful to us novices as we led up to the election and it was good to see first hand how well the staff and volunteers dealt with the the whole process of organising and carrying out the count on Thursday evening.

Well done to Dundee United and their first foray into local elections.
