Rob Wallace

Sir,

At St Clare Hospice we are indebted to the more than 500 people from across West Essex and East Herts who volunteer their time to support us each week.

The Hospice simply couldn’t continue to provide the level of care we give to patients and families without our volunteers’ support.

This Volunteers’ Week (1st – 7th June) we want to say a huge thank you to them for their dedication and to recognise their invaluable efforts.

Aged from 14 years through to 92 years, our volunteers work in more than 25 different roles across the organisation – from helping out in our eight charity shops, to caring on our Inpatient Unit, and providing companionship to people in their own homes.

Last year they donated more than 100,000 hours of their time to volunteering for St Clare. Their time, skills and dedication makes such a difference to the care we provide and literally changes the lives of people in our local communities.

We humbly appreciate their generosity all year round, but want to make an extra effort to thank them during national Volunteers’ Week.
