HARLOW TOWN 78 all out v SOUTH WOODFORD 82-4
HARLOW Town’s great winning run of eight games out of the last 11 came to an end at home to South Woodford on Saturday.
A fragile batting performance saw Town settling for 4th place in Division 2 of the Essex League and the visitors taking 3rd place.
Both sides had an outside chance of promotion before the start of the afternoon, but Town’s total of just 78 was not going to give their bowling attack much chance to recover the situation, although as it turned out, a score of 150 may well have been enough to take the honours with Woodford struggling to the required total, losing four wickets in the process against Ben Eversden 2-11, Dan Farmer 1-7 and Suraj Chauhan 1-12. Jake McMullen. 29 and James Richard 21 top scoring for Woodford.
A slightly disappointing end to the season but a better start and a bit more consistency may well have ended with promotion.
