Harlow’s Lib-Dem candidate for next General Election announced
News / Thu 24th Oct 2019 at 06:50am
CHARLOTTE Cane has been selected to stand for the Liberal Democrats in Harlow at the next General Election.
Announcing her candidate, the Harlow Lib Dems believe that Ms Cane will “offer voters a positive alternative to Labour and the Tories, who have failed to deliver for local residents”.
With Brexit high on the agenda, it will be interesting to see if the Lib Dems can attract any of the 13,867 residents who voted to Remain.
Charlotte said: “We have wasted three years arguing about Brexit. If Johnson takes us out of the EU under his latest half-baked plan, we will waste even more years on negotiating trade deals to replace the 40+ deals which we already have as members of the EU.
All this time, our hospitals are losing funding so waiting lists are growing; we are housing people in converted offices rather than building real homes; and the air we breathe is so polluted it is making us ill.
“I am delighted to be representing the Lib Dems here in Harlow, and will fight to stop Brexit so we can re-build a world class National Health Service; build quality homes for everyone; and protect our environment.”
