AMONG the many new MPs that took up their seats this week was Selaine Saxby.

Ms Saxby is the new Conservative MP for North Devon. The first timer won with a thumping majority of over 14,000 (sounds familiar-Ed).

It has been a whirlwind for her as she was only elected as a local councillor in May.

Ms Saxby is the daughter of the former headteacher of Passmores School and Technology College, Mr Ken Saxby.

Mr Saxby was headteacher in the seventies (If anyone has the exact dates then please let us know).
