AS the novelty of working from home has started to wane, business leaders and the self-employed in Harlow are being encouraged to stay connected and make better business connections with the support of a new virtual networking event.
With many companies planning a new combination of remote and on-site working, a hybrid virtual model is likely to remain for some time. But social interaction on a business level has never been more important. A UK study of employees has shown remote working is creating a ‘cycle of fatigue’ and mental health concerns.
Essex business owners, key decision makers, freelancers, consultants, training providers and employees are invited to attend Harlow Buzz to make new connections and break up the monotony of working from home.
Donna Sharman, Regional Lead for Essex, said: “It is easy to feel isolated and disconnected when working from home. The innovative online platform we use for our virtual Buzz meetings provides a vibrant café-style setting perfect for driving great conversations. It is proving to be really good fun and definitely offers more room than Zoom!”
Business Buzz does not charge a membership or subscription fees, tickets cost just £5. There’s no professional lockout, everybody is welcome. Attendees can relax knowing they have the freedom to drop in and speak to who they like for as long as they like without worrying about elevator pitches or referral quotas.
Donna continued: “Harlow Buzz will be a great addition to our existing Essex Business Community, we have been established in Southend-On-Sea for over 3 years now. We are looking forward to supporting the town with networking opportunities.
Harlow Buzz is being sponsored by Easy Storage who provide Self Storage Solutions that come to you.
Steven Gill of easyStorage, said: “We were delighted to hear that Business Buzz was coming to Harlow and we’re excited to sponsor. We are aware how important is its to keep our business visible during the times and networking virtually has helped to raise our profile. We look forward to meeting new people in Harlow and support businesses with their self-storage needs.”
Harlow Buzz will meet – virtually for now – on the 2nd Tuesday every month, and plans are in motion to secure a fun and friendly central venue once face-to-face events are possible again. Its events typically attract 25-70+ attendees.
The networking organisation is already established in 35+ locations in the UK and is actively looking to grow the brand in Essex – with opportunities available for event Hosts, supporting Ambassadors as well as business sponsorships for those looking to raise their profile.
