Two men arrested following reports of indecent exposure and sexual assault on river bank

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a series of sexual offences in west Essex and across the border in Hertfordshire.

We are investigating a number of reports of indecent exposure and sexual assault around the area of Nazeing and Dobbs Weir, often by the Lee Navigation.

The incidents took place between July 2020 and May 12 2021.

A 24-year-old man from Bishop’s Stortford was arrested on 15 May and a 27-year-old man from Nazeing was arrested on 18 May.

The 24-year-old has been bailed until June 12. The 27-year-old has been bailed until June 13.

We know that sometimes victims don’t recognise that a crime has been committed against them.
