Harlow Civic Society boosted by new blood at AGM
Harlow is 70: Why I Came Here / Sun 10th Oct 2021 at 01:01pm
THERE was a palpable sense of the changing of the guard at Harlow Civic Society’s Annual General Meeting.
The meeting included a number of poignant and heartfelt tributes to Harlow MP Stan Newens, who passed away last year.
Stan Newens was a key member of the Harlow Civic Society and clearly was a guiding force for all members of the society.
There was also a tribute to Harlow architect, John Graham.
But there as also the election of a number of new members to the committee including local urban geographer, Jake Shepherd and Harlow Museum member Isaac Verrall.
It is really important that the membership of the Harlow Civic Society reflects Harlow past, present and future.
It was also perhaps pertinent that Naisha Polaine of the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town delivered a presentation that, was a sign of the times, past, present and future.
