Innovation Multisport celebrate first year in fine style

Athletics / Tue 3rd May 2022 at 07:43am

THIS month will see Innovation Multisport Club celebrate the one year anniversary of its formation. To ensure that the club can provide the best support possible for it’s members, some of the core team have been working hard earning coaching & leadership qualifications.

Kelly Burgess, Tracie Cook, David Nicholas and Louise Peacock all passed Leadership in Running Fitness course accredited by England Athletics prior to christmas and more recently Andrew Kitson & Paul Schroder have both passed the British Triathlon Federation level 2 diploma qualification. Coaches holding the level 2 diploma are not only able to coach grouo sessions for swimming, cycling and running but they’re also able to offer support on an individual basis.

This bank holiday weekend members were out in force at numerous events putting their training into action. Saturday is always parkrun day & members not only attended Harlow parkrun, they also travelled to various parkruns around the country.

Sunday 1st May had several members taking on WaldenTri, which consisted of 400m pool swim, 22.5k cycle and a 5k run or the AquaBike option which didn’t include the run. Youngest member of the club, Teddy Emery, 16, made his triathlon debut, along with Kelly Burgess.

With an extra day off for the bank holiday it only meant one thing for members, an extra day of racing!

The Vitality 10,000 held in the Iconic City of London, 16,000 runners took on the fast, flat course and 15 members got fantastic results. But its not all about competing, the club also provided marshalls along the route, members giving up their time to volunteer, supporting and cheering on runners! Overall a fantastic start to May for Innovation Multisport!
