Former leader of Conservatives Andrew Johnson elected chair of Harlow Council

THE FORMER leader of the Harlow Conservatives has been elected as chair of Harlow Council.
Church Langley councillor, Andrew Johnson was elected to the position on Thursday night.
The vice-chair is Old Harlow councillor Sue Livings.
After the exchange of chains, cllr Johnson spoke to the chamber and spoke of how he will endeavour to fulfil his role.
Councillor Johnson stressed that the role of chair is to be the “conscience of the council”.
His two chosen charities will be Friends of Rock School and Streets2Homes.
The theme of his year, will be “The Best of Harlow”.

Congratulations too Andrew Johnson hope he does well being Chairman. I just hope he can build up Harlow shops and cheaper rent to start them off I herd they have a new M&S in Stevenage could we persuade M&S to come back to Harlow. Just a thought.
