1600 hrs We are investigating following a serious collision in Harlow.

Our officers were called to Westfield, close to Tendring Road, shortly after 5am today, Wednesday 8 June, to reports of a collision involving an e-scooter.

The rider of the e-scooter has been taken to hospital where he is in a critical condition.

We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anyone who has dash cam footage.

0800 hrs: Statement from Essex Police: “We are on the scene of a collision in Westfield, close to Tendring Road, in Harlow and the road is closed while emergency services deal with the incident.

We expect the closure will have an unavoidable impact on traffic in the area throughout the morning.

The incident involves a man who we believe was riding an e-scooter and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed a collision in the area between 3am and 5am this morning.

We are also appealing for dashcam or doorbell footage of the incident.
