George Serban, aged 31, of Langett Close, Northampton pleaded guilty at Chelmsford magistrates court to the following:

On May 12th, 2022at Harlow, stole clothing items, of a value unknown, belonging to TK MAXX, Harlow

On May 13th, 2022 at Harlow, stole clothing items, of a value unknown, belonging to TK MAXX, Harlow

On May 24th, 2022 at Harlow in the county of Essex, stole clothing items, to the value of £800.62, belonging to TK MAXX, Harlow.

All three were sentenced to nine weeks in prison.

Reasons given: Defendants are foreign nationals who abused their positions as HGV drivers to work with a group of others, targeted the same store on three occasions to steal high value items in their vehicles.

The defendants worked in a “gang” to steal to order goods to be resold as they were suffering financial difficulties.

Defendants have no previous convictions and have been given credit for these pleas but the offences are so serious that only a prison sentence is appropriate.

Lorry drivers are traditionally well respected and trustworthy. They have a lot of responsibilities. These 3 failed dismally those expected standards. They should in future be banned from entering the uk post their jail terms.
