HARLOW Running and Tri Club members competed at the Essex 10k Championships at a sweltering Felsted on Sunday morning. HRTC collected two gold medals from their more mature members.

John Tennant finished in 220th place out of 395 finishers and 1st Vet 70 in 51.10 to win the Gold Medal in his category. Paulene Galoppi was 387 and 1st Female Vet 70 in 1.13.23 to win the Gold Medal in her category.

First home for HRTC was Martyn Coulter in 52nd place in an excellent 38.43, Kirk Crudgigton was 64th in 39.26 and Catherine Ridge 117th and 3rd Female Vet 35 in 43.31.

Meanwhile, at the Gosfield Lake Sprint Triathlon (750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run), at Braintree, Jon Waight finished in 23rd place out of 88 finishers in 1.25.28.

Robert Foxley finished the Gunpowder parkrun in 6th place out of 104 finishers in a PB time of 20.00.

At the Run Through Olympic Park 5k Thomas Beales finished in 14th place out of 120 finishers and 3rd Vet 40 in 22.21.
