Travel Alert: Delays on M11 near Harlow after collision

Update: 1715 hrs: The M11 southbound between Jct 7a and 7 has re-opened. Recovery is now taking place on the hard shoulder however all lanes are open to traffic.
There are long residual delays of at least 50 minutes above usual journey times on the approach.

1630 hrs: CLOSED and stationary traffic for five miles – between J7 (Harlow) and J8 (Stansted/A120) –
Reports of a collision involving a car and a lorry – emergency services in attendance – slowing northbound passed the scene – approach with caution.

So Junction 7a not really helping then if M11 is closed all the way between 7 and 8?!

I agree with the above statement. If they shut the M11 between 7 and 8 junction it probably means that junction 7a and the surrounding areas could not cope with the amount of traffic that would come off it. They normally use A120/A10/M25

Its all about building new houses, nothing to do with easing traffic through the Town.
