HARLOW Running and Tri Club’s triathletes competed in the Bedford Triathlon Team Relays (750m swim, 23k bike, 5k run) at the weekend.

Iain Bulloch, Simon Morgans and Alan Knightley finished  9th team and 2nd Vets Team out of 97 teams in 4hrs 01min 28sec. Louise Kedge, Jane Evans and Ben Usher were 56th team in 4.45.47, Gail Nicholls, Colin Langbridge and Terri Wiley were 68th team in 4.54.54, Nick D’Alton, Michelle Hyde and Alan Cootes were 69th team in 4.55.42, Darren Tiley, Helen Barrell and Vicky Steadman were 76th team in 5.07.37 and James Dowsett, Annabel Moeser and Ben Fowler were 78th team in 5.10.24.

Some of these triathletes were in action last Wednesday at the Luxborough Standard Distance Aquathlon (800m Swim, 5km Run). Alan Knightley finished in 3rd place out of 34 finishers to win the Male Bronze Medal. He was followed by Ryan Smith in 4th place in 33.53, Ben Usher 8th in 36.26, Jon Waight 9th in 36.46, Terri Wiley 14th and Female Silver Medal winner in 38.49 and Allison Beeton 22nd in 41.25.  

Meanwhile, at the 25k School’s Out Run by Zig Zag Running at Brandon Park, Suffolk, Laura Prime was victorious in 1st place out of 4 finishers in 2.50.32. In the 20k race at the same event Robert Foxley finished in 4th place out of 31 finishers in 1.52.33 

There were parkrun PBs on Saturday morning for Martyn Coulter at the Gunpowder parkrun, Waltham Abbey, finishing in 5th place out of 125 finishers in 18.46 and by Chris Arnell at Harlow parkrun, finishing in 21st place out of 177 finishers in 22.37. 

Last week HRTC organised a members only 5k run which counted towards its Club Championships. First home was Martyn Coulter out of 28 finishers in 19.12. Not far behind were Kirk Crudgington in 19.18 and Martin Usher in 19.33.
