Tye Green Cricket Club decides to declare they are closed

TYE Green Cricket Club has decided to close.

A short statement was issued on the club’s Facebook page.

A spokesperson said: “Unfortunately it as come time to fold the club.

“We have really enjoyed playing as a team for the last few years and we wish all the players the best for the future”.

The club was “re-born” after being dormant for a number of years.

They played their games on the field off Tillwicks Road.

Not a good sign when clubs close, however having had dealings with Essex Cricket and ECB they seem to be more interested in shipping teams from London (not part of our community) to use facilities and pitches than supporting the poorer grassroot Harlow clubs to thrive and bringing on local youngsters. Would like to see them prove me wrong!
