THE oldest family business in the area, Daniel Robinson & Sons, has donated 500 tubs of chocolates – a wall of chocolate in fact – to be shared between Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford Foodbanks this festive season.

Managing Director Gary Neill said, “we recognise that many local families are struggling this winter and we wanted to give something back to people in our local community and bring a little joy.  Community is vitally important to us, it’s where we live and work.   We care passionately about making a real difference where we can.  As a local family business, we would like to encourage other businesses to support the Foodbank, it doesn’t have to be a big gesture, but if we all contributed a little, pulling together it could add up to a lot”.

On accepting the donation, Andy said ‘“Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford Foodbanks really appreciate the initiative taken by Daniel Robinson & Sons to think of those in hardship this winter. The company are so much a part of the life of these two towns, so it’s great that they recognise how much our neighbours are being affected right now, bringing a token of friendship and cheer to those whose Christmases may not be so lavish this year. We hope that other companies may follow their inspiration and show that care when they can – it means a lot!”.
