HARLOW’S U14 County Cup side travelled to Billericay today (Sunday) and recorded a superb County Cup win.

Harlow won the toss and elected to bowl first and that decision was richly rewarded by early wickets for Harrison Wren and Lia Fisk. The home side recovered well before Emilia Allen struck for the crucial third wicket. Joshua Ram rounded the home innings off by taking three quick wickets, two of which were well stumped by keeper Sam Robertson.

In reply, Harlow’s opening batters got us away to a quick start before Bill Clark was run out for 11 with the score on 40. Jack Fuller (29) well next after a quick fire boundary filled innings and a third wicket put the game in the balance before Sam Robertson joined Harrison Wren for what turned out to be the clinching partnership.

Harrison remained unbeaten for a classy 32 (1 six and 4 boundaries) but Sam was in explosive form recording a career best 22 that included a six and three fours before he was caught but by then Harlow were on the edge of victory that was confirmed by Henry Jacques and Harrison Wren adding a cool and mature 32 for the fifth wicket.

A very good result against one of the biggest clubs in the county. Well done to all.
