Charity / Fri 18th Oct 2024 at 09:33am

ST Clare Hospice is delighted to announce the success of its “Walking in Memory” events, which took place on 22ndSeptember in Saffron Walden, and 29th September in Hastingwood.

Over 200 people registered for the walks, with a total of over £18,700 raised so far!

The walks saw people of all ages take part. As they walked through the scenic surroundings, supporters came together to share stories, celebrate their memories of family and friends who have died, and create new memories along the way.

Amy Winehouse, Head of Relationships Fundraising said ‘‘We’re truly grateful to everyone who took part in this year’s Walking in Memory events, and the support we’ve received from our local community.

‘‘Walking in Memory is more than just an event, it’s an opportunity for people to come together, remember their loved ones, and hear about other people’s reasons for walking.

‘‘We’d also like to thank our volunteers and sponsors (Exertis, Barrington’s, Sovereign Specialist Services and Peasgood and Skeates), for helping to make the events a huge success.’’

The funds raised from “Walking in Memory” will go toward ensuring that St Clare Hospice can continue to provide compassionate care to patients and their families throughout West Essex and East Hertfordshire.

St Clare Hospice would like to thank everyone who took part, volunteered, or donated, your support means the world to us!
