WHAT a busy month! Innovation Multisport do love taking part in various events across the country. First up on the 6th October was Cambridge Town & Gown 10k where Mark Fish ran a great time of 53:36!
October 13th saw two events, Royal Parks Half, London and Run Bournemouth.
Steve Cooper, Karl Burnett, Bobby Draper and Alison Walker all got into the very popular race through the ballot earlier in the year.
Everyone ran exceptionally well with Steve Cooper gaining a shiny new Personal Best, knocking 6min10sec! Coming in at 1:36:44! Karl Burnett also got a PB with 1:44:49, knocking 1min44 off!

Also on the same day down in Bournemouth was the Supernova 5k and 10k. Jeannette and Richard Baldwin ran one each, Jeannette was taking part in her first 5k event and loved every minute of it! Richard ran the 10k with a time of 55.53.
October 19th was the London Aquathlon at the Olympic Pool, Stratford. Dayna Cooper and Dave Nicholas took part in the 400m pool swim and the 5k run around the Olympic Park. Dayna’s time was a respectable 42.54 overall (swim 8:42 transition 1:54 run 32:17) and Dave picked up an Aquathlon PB with 51:49 (swim 9:12 transition 2:49 Run 39:47) just a month after taking part Duck n Dash Aquathlon.

October 20th: Kelly and Chris Grey, Kelly Burgess, Garry Orton and Paul Vella travelled to Portsmouth for the weekend but Storm Ashley hit the UK and The Great South 10 Miler was unfortunately cancelled.
The organisers asked the competitors to run the distance virtually to earn their medal, so Kelly ran the 10 miles on the treadmill in the hotel gym the morning of the race and the others went out later in the day or the following week to complete the miles. It’s disappointing when events are cancelled but it was the right thing to do for the safety of the runners, volunteers and spectators.

October 26th and 27th: a group of Innovators travelled to Eastbourne for the Beachy Head Marathon Weekend. With the 26.2miles and the 10k events on Sat 26th Kelly Burgess and Dawn Shaw took part in the undulating marathon course including the Seven Sisters cliffs.
With over 4,000ft of elevation for the route it is considered as one of the top 5 Most Challenging marathons in the UK. Kelly has run the event 5 times before, and Dawn 3 times, so they knew what to expect, and although it’s tough, they love the views! Also on the same day was the 10k, Dave Nicholas took on the also undulating route which included 2 of the Seven Sisters cliffs. Garry Orton, Susan Mould and Lenny Warren were volunteering for the day too, giving out water and medals and serving up hot food and drink for the finishers!

Sunday 27th was the day of the Beachy Head Half Marathon, starting in the same place as yesterday’s events with the steep incline start and following some of the same route as the marathon and including 4 of the Seven Sisters cliffs. Louise Peacock, Susan Mould, Saira Muschamp were joined by Kelly Burgess even though she had run the full marathon the day before. Everyone did fantastically well on the tough and challenging course but the views made up for it. Finish line Smiles all round!!
