Harlow man charged with stalking and dangerous driving

A HARLOW man has appeared in court charged with a number of offences including stalking and dangerous driving.

William Blayney, aged 35, of Fennells, Harlow has been charged with the following.

Between September 7th and November 20th, 2024, at Harlow pursued a course of conduct, namely multiple calls, messages, and pursuing the victim in person by chasing her in a vehicle, which amounted to stalking causing a woman serious alarm or distress, which had a substantial adverse effect on her usual day-to-day activities when you knew or ought to have known that your course of conduct would cause alarm or distress.

On November 19th, 2024 at Harlow drove a Renault Kangoo dangerously on roads, namely Fennells and Paringdon Road.

On November 19th, 2024 used a Renault Kangoo on a road, or other public place, namely Paringdon Road, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance

Between September 19th, 2024 and November 19th, 2024 without lawful excuse, damaged a television to the value of unknown belonging to another intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

On November 19th, 2024, used threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence, towards another with intent to cause  that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by  him whereby that person was likely to believe that such violence would be used, or it was likely that such violence would be provoked.

The case has been sent to Chelmsford Crown Court for trial.

The next hearing is scheduled for December 19th.

No plea has been entered at this time.

Blayney has been released on conditional bail
