Letter to Editor: The blocked drains of Mallows Green

Your Say / Sun 12th Jan 2025 at 10:24am

Dear Editor,

FOUR years ago, I complained about a neighbour in Malllows Green, who used to tip car oil down a drain.

The neighbour has since moved. Over the last four years, I have constantly phoned Essex County Council and complained about the drain filling up and flooding the area.

The flood also causes issues on the dropped kerb for disabled people.

I would like to know why the complaint has constantly been ignored, and why the drain has not been cleared, but left to continuously flood every time it rains.

The drain is at the corner of the block 49 to 53 Mallows Green.

For and on behalf of the local residents of Mallows Green.

Yours sincerely

Mr Sadler

Try Harlow Council not Essex CC. Cllr Nicky Purse who has an environmental portfolio has been doing a great and hands on job getting HTS to clear drains

Because the council whether Harlow Council or Essex County Council want our money for doing absolutely nothing. Unblocking drains should be part of their preventative maintenance, there should be a full time gang employed for harlow just doing that. Instead they try to blame climate change or whatever they want to call it next. One thing they are good at is creating chaos through out Harlow by organising various roadworks that won't make a blind bit of difference, all at the same time!
