Mark, I would start by explaining that expelling by force over half of the Palestinian Arab population in 1948 by Jewish paramilitary forces, which many described as terrorists at the time, started the ongoing conflict and suffering. I say suffering because many have been stuck in refugee camps ever since. Since 1967 Israel has illegally occupied parts of Palestine that the United Nations has condemned on many occasions.
