Crime / Thu 27th Nov 2025 at 02:51pm

TEAMS continuing to disrupt and dismantle the drug lines fuelling wider crime in Harlow have seen two men charged with multiple offences.

Our Operation Raptor teams, which focus solely on county lines activity, stopped two suspects in a café in the town on Wednesday 19 November.

They were detained for a ‘stop and search’.

One of the officers was struck, suffering minor injury, and damage was caused to the café while detaining one of the men.

More than 80 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were recovered in the search, alongside a two-figure sum of cash.

A further strike on an address in London recovered around 98g of crack cocaine and £2,175 in cash.

Charges of being possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin have since been secured against Joseph Kidd, 34, and Sydney Weise, 21.

Weise also faces charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker, possessing criminal property and criminal damage.

Both Weise, of No Fixed Abode, and Kidd, of no fixed abode, were remanded in custody and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.

They remain in custody and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday 19 December.
