WE received this correspondence the other day. We happen to think it is menacing. We were in two minds on whether to print it.

But whereas we think councils such as East Herts and Herts have got it right, we think Essex and Harlow haven’t .

Essex and Harlow have decided to pick a side. They don’t think they have but as they say…….silence gives consent.

We have a long opinion piece sitting in our drafts section. We may publish or may just crack on with the other 4,500 stories a year we publish but here is a line…

Dear Editor,

Hello, I am one of the guys putting flags up all over Harlow. I hope you like them. Your harlow received a message from a concerned citizen about how the flags was effecting his mental health. No doubt another one on the sick.

I would just like to say me and my team will not be stopping untill legal action is taken against us .

We now have 400 flags and will be replacing the ones that have been taken down. If you find the flag of the country you live in offensive leave.

I really can not get over some of the emotionally immature Harlow residents that find their countries flag blowing in the wind offensive . Grow up and stop being offended by everything.

We are dedicated and well funded we will not stop.

We have carpeted the town in flags and we are doing more in the next few days, not out of love for the country any more, we put them up just to make the emotionally immature mad.

I suppose I’m helping them claim their sick pay. I would like to remind those that taking my property is theft, ripping my property is criminal damage. What we deem appropriate action will be taken if we see you .

I would also like to politely remind your Harlow editors and reporters that unbiased news is the best news.
