Letter to Editor: On Children’s Mental Health Week
Health / Fri 13th Feb 2026 at 09:49am
THIS week (9–15 Feb) is Children’s Mental Health Week, organised by Place2Be and as a local mental health and wellbeing advocate, I would like to share some free resources that are available from the Charlie Waller Trust.

The Charlie Waller Trust are one the UK’s most respected mental health charities, founded by the family of Charlie Waller, who died by suicide in 1997 whilst suffering from depression.
The Charlie Waller Trust put young people at the heart of what we do: helping them achieve and sustain better mental health. They do this by equipping those closest to young people – families, friends, educators, communities and employers – with strategies and support based on the best available evidence.
Whether you’re a parent, carer, educator, or work with children in any capacity, you’ll know that supporting children’s mental health isn’t just about one week of the year. It’s an ongoing conversation that requires the right tools, understanding, and resources to help young people navigate their feelings and build resilience.
Below are links to practical resources that can be used to help you support children and young people’s wellbeing with confidence and compassion.
