HARLOW runner James Dowsett got himself in the Guinness Book of Records after beating the record for running a marathon dressed in suit of armour.
James beat the old record (held by a Frenchmen!) by just 62 seconds.
And according to James it was touch and go.

Once the temperature gets above 14 degrees, it can start to have an impact on the body. But yesterday afternoon it started to get to 17 degrees. Add to that a medieval outfit and you can see what a feat it was for James.
But he is a fit, experienced and determined runner and what we did notice was his even split times. Mile after mile after mile run in around 9.45-9.50. That is remarkable.

He completed the course in 4hrs 21mins 10 secs.
James was running for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
In case you wondered, Guinness are extremely thorough, weighing James’ costume before and after the race.
Well done James. Everyone is very proud of you.
