Wickes supports Henry Moore Primary School with new outdoor wellbeing space

HENRY Moore Primary School near Harlow has completed a new outdoor project designed to give pupils a dedicated space for learning, creativity and wellbeing.

The project centres around a bespoke outdoor stage, built from scratch by the school’s Site Manager. The new space will be used for outdoor lessons, performances, group activities and quiet reflection, helping to extend learning beyond the classroom and support pupils’ emotional wellbeing in a more relaxed environment.

School leaders say the area will also help build confidence and communication skills, giving children more opportunities to perform, collaborate and take part in activities in a different setting. It is expected to become a valuable shared space for assemblies, events and wider school community use throughout the year.

To help bring the project to completion, the Wickes Community Programme donated a selection of materials to protect and finish the structure. This included 100 litres of wood stain, Cuprinol 5 Year Ducksback Matt Shed & Fence Treatment, Barrettine Wood Preserver and Wickes Galvanised Single Jack Chain. The products ensure the stage is fully weather-protected and suitable for year-round use.

The Wickes Community Programme supports local projects that make a practical difference in communities by providing materials where they are most needed. This donation helped the school complete a space that will now play an active role in both learning and wellbeing across the school.

Kerry Barrow, Senior Support Staff Manager at Henry Moore Primary School said: “Thank you so much for your donation to our school project. This is the stage that has been built by our exceptional Site Manager and we used your donation to paint and protect it.”

Andy Smith, Store Manager at Wickes said: “We were very happy to help Henry Moore Primary School with their wellness space. It is great to see our products being used to create such a positive space for the children, and we are glad we could provide the support needed to get the stage finished and protected.”
