HERE is the monthly report for Harlow Running and Tri Club.

By Ella Wager

What a success they had as a club at the inaugural Matching 10km, with an incredible 89 club runners taking part.

It was a day of PB’s, with 24 running their fastest ever 10km times. Given the hard work everyone has been putting in recently, it really comes as no surprise.

They also had five club members kindly give up their own races to pace others, with Denise generously offering to be the back runner. Carinne picked up yet another club record, while Cat Ridge took 1st Female 40+, Ella Wager and Jochebed Mpanga also won awards!

The success didn’t stop there as they also secured team prizes, finishing 1st overall for both the mens and ladies teams, as well as picking up third place team awards too. It really was one of those days where the club spirit was at its very best.

A huge well done as well to Jason, who has been working incredibly hard this season and deservedly ran a huge PB at the Milton Keynes Marathon, taking over 17 minutes off his previous time.

At parkrun, Jochebed, Liz, Olivia and Jenny all set PB’s.

It was also the first weekend of triathlon results, with Ellie, Jack and Jon all racing at Eaton Dorney. A special mention has to go to Ellie, who completed her very first triathlon and chose the standard distance for her debut in a seriously impressive and respectable time.

And last, but definitely not least, Lex Ellington completed his 50-mile ultra at the Pennine Ultra
